This is the center of Turku. In this square you can buy such as fruit, fish, or clothing. Yesterday there was the presidential candidates of the election meetings. Finland held a few weeks after the presidential election.

Yeah, snow at last, hope it stays a while.
Great shot of the town.

@The Mouse: I hope it too. The snow makes the landscape brighter and cleaner look. And not a threat to winter snow.

ursulakatariina from Leixlip, Ireland

OMG! I just saw from your local news paper that there is -15 °C today in Turku! I don't even remember what that feels like.
Now the city looks like it should look this time of the year. I hope you'll have the snow there for a while!
Great shot.

@ursulakatariina: Right now, the meter shows about 12 degrees. The snow is so much that yesterday got a little experiment with Snow shovels. It is a good way to outdoor life. It may be physical, nor does it seem to sport.

Nigel from Avening, United Kingdom

And life goes on. In the UK the place would be deserted with snow like that!

8 Jan 2012 8:13am

@Nigel: That is the amount of snow is not here yet no harm. I was in before the bus driver, and sometimes had to go to half a meter, even through the snowdrifts with the bus. Nobody would have understood that the bus will not that kind of volume due to the snow. That picture of snow a few centimeters thick. Had a couple of degrees below zero.

Mhelene from Paris, France
