@Nicou: The ferry runs as long as the ice can not build a bridge for walkers. The ice is not yet strong enough.

thami from Morocco

Ils semblent toucher le fond ! Et maintenant comment on fait pour nous en sortir !
Bonne journée lumineuse!

24 Jan 2013 6:12am

@thami: If the ice is strong enough to be built on the ice bridge, which is along the river can be crossed. It is then that the ferry to the beach.

ursulakatariina from Ed, Sweden

Great shot! Great light. Nice to see the old thing is still moving even if it's almost too cold for people to be out. :)

gerard1948 from Santiago de Compostela, Spain

Very nice composition with beautiful colors. Ice does not reform overnight? It is not easy to live in the cold country.
Have a nice day.

24 Jan 2013 6:53am

@gerard1948: When there is no hard frost, will not be enough time during the night too strong. And sometimes it is the one of the ship threatened to break down the ice. Yes you get used to living here.

Lovely shot of this ferry crossing. An ice bridge? No, thank you. ;-)

24 Jan 2013 1:05pm

@Steve Rice: Thank you. Maybe it is in traffic all winter because ice is quite thin.

Ruthiebear from Titusville, NJ, United States

I like the point of view. GOod light. Even with the ice in the water the ferry moves on!

24 Jan 2013 6:08pm

@Ruthiebear: The ice is still pretty thin, but if it is thick, the ferry stops and passing under the bridge along the ice.

Patrick M. from Lille, France

J hope for these people that the boat does not stay in the middle of the ice! a road dotted ----

24 Jan 2013 6:50pm

@Patrick M.: Not to worry, the ferry can be reached fairly easily on ice.

The Mouse from Glasgow, United Kingdom

Must be close to overloaded!

24 Jan 2013 7:30pm

@The Mouse: Ferry can legally take 75 passengers. Ice damage to the flow a little bit, but slowly does it.
