Tobacco production was in the past

Tobacco was in Finland, quite common crop in the early 20th century. These plants are in the courtyard of the "Tobacco Factory" in the Turku Handicrafts Museum. The museum has the ability to produce handmade cigars using old methods

Long ways ago when I was young, a neighbour grew his own tobacco here in London . . dried the leaves in a spare room and smoked the stuff !

Looks like the growth is pretty good !!!!
I thought that tobacco grew only in Tropical..humid and warm places !!!
