The Christmas tree in front of the Turku cathedral is celebrated as Finland's first Christmas tree. Turku is Finland's oldest city and the Archbishop's seat is in Turku. This year the Christmas tree was brought from Pöyty, a municipality close to Turku. The age of the tree is 56 years on the basis of annual rings, its height is 22 meters and weight is 2.9 tonnes. In the spruce, about 700 LEDs are lit up to January 13. Then the time of Christmas ends.
